Which institution does this guide cover?
PICT is an autonomous, SPPU-affiliated institution, listed under code 06271. Its official admissions FAQ states autonomy from AY 2024–25 through 2033–34. Autonomy is distinct from becoming a separate university; it does not make every programme interchangeable.
Engineering courses and programme details
The following are standard branch entries in the CET Cell’s 2026–27 institute summary. Intake is the listed annual capacity, not a live vacancy count. Separate TFWS entries and other supernumerary seats are not added to this table.

Eligibility and admission process
For the usual first-year PCM route in the 2026–27 state brochure, Maharashtra candidates need Physics and Mathematics with an allowed third subject, 45% in the specified subject group (40% for eligible Maharashtra reserved/EWS/PwD candidates), and a non-zero PCM MHT-CET score. All India candidature has separate rules and gives preference to a positive JEE Main score. These eligibility conditions do not guarantee allotment.
The standard first-year engineering programme is four years. Diploma/lateral-entry applicants must use the separate direct-second-year process; the first-year intake and cutoff tables below do not describe DSE seats.
- Register for the relevant CET Cell admission process and complete document scrutiny.
- Check the final merit status, candidature and eligible seat categories.
- Enter exact branch choice codes in your preferred order.
- Follow the applicable round’s acceptance and reporting rules after allotment.
- Use a separate institute notification for any authorised Institute Level or against-CAP-vacancy process; an enquiry is not an allotment.
As checked on 30 September 2026, the official 2026–27 engineering portal says admissions are closed. The figures here are reference data for that session, not a claim that applications or seats are currently available.

Hostel and mess
The verified academic fee table does not include a room or mess charge. Obtain the PICT hostel allotment terms, occupancy, period of stay and meal charges separately; do not transfer hostel prices from another Pune engineering college.
Cutoffs and how to read them
These are 2026–27 CAP Round I, Stage I historical results for Maharashtra seats. GOPENS means General Open, State Level. The rank is the Maharashtra State General Merit Number; the bracketed score is the merit percentile, not raw marks or JEE All India Rank.
| Branch | Seat category | MH merit no. | Percentile | Source page |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Computer Engineering | GOPENS | 929 | 99.7857034 | PDF 1190 ↗ |
| Information Technology | GOPENS | 1378 | 99.6791809 | PDF 1190 ↗ |

This is one consistently labelled comparison slice, not every category or every round. Other categories, All India seats and later rounds can differ. Use the full official PDF for your exact seat type; a previous closing score is not a forecast or admission assurance.
Curriculum and campus comparison
PICT may suit a shortlist centred on Computer Engineering, IT, AI and Data Science, or electronics. There is no Mechanical or Civil branch in its verified 2026–27 CET Cell listing. Electronics and Computer Engineering is a separate choice from Electronics and Telecommunication.
For a useful department visit, ask to see the current semester syllabus, compulsory laboratory timetable, final-year project examples and internship assessment rules. Compare the proportion of core subjects with elective or specialisation modules. Hostel access, workshop access and placement eligibility are different entitlements; get the terms for your own programme.
No current blanket accreditation grade or “all branches NBA accredited” claim is made here. Accreditation has a programme and validity period; it should be matched to the admission year using the actual certificate.
Placement evidence and reporting scope
PICT’s placement department describes registration from the end of semester six, followed by employer-specific eligibility, tests and interviews. It lists preparation in aptitude, DSA, databases, operating systems, networks and interview skills. The current dashboard is labelled 2026–27 ongoing. A completed, branch-specific salary table with a clear population was not established from that dashboard, so no average or median package is asserted here.

Plan your engineering shortlist
Campus Mantra can help you compare the documented admission route, preferred branch and available budget. Bring your entrance scorecard, Class 12 subject marks and the fee notice for your proposed seat category. Keep refundable deposits separate from tuition and add accommodation only when you have a residence quotation.

COMMON QUESTIONS
PICT Pune engineering: FAQs
Which campus and university does PICT Pune belong to?
PICT is an autonomous, SPPU-affiliated institution, listed under code 06271. Its official admissions FAQ states autonomy from AY 2024–25 through 2033–34. Autonomy is distinct from becoming a separate university; it does not make every programme interchangeable.
Which admission year do these numbers describe?
The fee and intake tables identify their source session. CAP data, where shown, is 2026–27 Round I and is historical. Placement evidence retains its own batch or reporting date. These are not confirmed 2027–28 fees or cutoffs.
Does the listed fee include hostel and mess?
Read the academic and residence sections separately. An academic total does not include accommodation unless the cited schedule explicitly says so. Category concessions also require the applicable documents and approval.
Can Campus Mantra guarantee admission?
No. Campus Mantra provides independent guidance; admission decisions and allotments belong to the college, university and relevant authorities.
